Systems Engineer

Job Location: Swansea, UK (Hybrid)

Salary: £27,000 – £36,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team. Our product is not an out of the box solution and engineers in the team need to have close working relationships with the customer, development and sales teams in order to successfully deliver the solution. We manage this by embracing a DevOps mentality and maintaining customer specific teams. Account management and customer communication will be key to ensuring the successful delivery of projects and ensuring we maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Installation, commissioning and maintenance of multi-tier SureView environments.
• Assisting customers with system wide rollouts, updates and hotfixes.
• Assist in the development of support documentation and contributing to customer driven training documentation.
• Providing 1st and 2nd line customer support and troubleshooting via support ticketing system, email and phone. Including some emergency out-of-hours support based on on-call schedule.
• Active participation in the release process by performing user acceptance testing on the latest releases and maintaining internal testing labs.
• Ensuring completion of projects to ensure goals and stakeholder expectations are met.

Working Hours 

• Eight hour day (One hour lunch break included)
• Rotating shifts within the range: 9am until 10pm
• Hybrid Working: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
• Emergency remote out of hours support (rotating ‘on call’ basis)
• On-site visits may be required depending on customer needs (This would be scheduled well in advance)

Required Experience and Qualifications 

• Qualification in IT-related field or equivalent experience 
• 1+ years commercial engineering experience desirable 
• Clean criminal record

• Deploying & Supporting software applications
• IP Network configuration and troubleshooting
• Windows Server Environment configuration and troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of SQL configuration, querying, backups & troubleshooting
• Independent IT Troubleshooting skills
• Confident, Professional & Clear in verbal and written Communication

Skills we’d love…

• Experience working with support ticket systems
• Microsoft IIS
• VM environments
• Powershell / Command Line / Terminal

Above & Beyond…

• A+ certification or any relevant Microsoft or Networking Certification\
• Experience with security products such as IP cameras, NVRs, CCTV,  VMSs, and Access Control systems
• Experience deploying and supporting PSIM security software applications
• Experience with SaaS products and/or SaaS infrastructure (AWS, Azure etc)
