Does it provide:
- A universal alarm queue – The ability to gather alarms from various types of systems (i.e. physical security or business systems) is key.
- A place to organize workflows – Getting organized is one of the most important pieces of implementing a new response platform. Start by mapping out scenarios such as, ‘what do you do when event X happens at location Y’.
- Universal plugins that support standard protocols – Systems that support industry-standard, simple onboarding can make or break your day-to-day operations. Search for a platform that can easily support your operation while lowering maintenance requirements and costs.
- An open API to integrate with back-office systems – Ask if there is a published API that allows you the flexibility to integrate with your unique systems and processes.
- Databases for centralized reporting – Be sure that your new platform can provide databases from your entire security operation rather than siloed systems.
